How I Lost 30 Pounds #NOGYM

So I’ve lost a little over 30 pounds in about 6 months! As with anything else, I’m going to tell you how I did it! For my more visual learners, check out my Weight Loss video. As discussed in the video, there were 3 major steps to my weight loss:

Get Motivated

Getting motivated is both the easiest and most difficult part of losing weight. Think about your why. Not the reason you tell other people, but the actual reason you want to change your weight. Do you want a boy to like you? Do you want to fit into a pair of jeans? Do you have diabetes? Whatever it is, write down the most truthful reason that you want to lose weight. If you’ve done it correctly, you should feel vulnerable, possibly a little sad, and more motivated than ever to take back your life!

Eat Clean

This section is better described in the video, but the overall idea is to eat clean! The idea is not to eat things you don’t like or go on a fad diet. Try a new way of eating, take on a new diet for a few weeks, find new and exciting foods you enjoy, and then incorporate them into your everyday living. Oh yeah, and don’t forget to replace unhealthy foods with more nutritious alternatives. Again, check out the video; it’s clarity.

Healthy “Diet” Ideas

Vegan

Vegetarian

Pescatarian

Paleo

No Red Meat

No Refined Sugars

I also want to point out that you can still eat ALL of your favorite things! In moderation, anything is acceptable. For instance, I just ordered a large pizza and wings, because it’s Friday. Set a “cheat day” and make it your b*tch.

Be Active

I hate the gym. It is my least favorite place on earth, so I stay very far away. Do you know what I do? I walk instead of Uber (which also saves money), I roam the Beverly Hills farmer’s market, or I walk the mall if it’s raining. I do yoga four times a week (most weeks). I do physical activity that fits into my lifestyle and isn’t boring or tedious. I do things that I actually want to do. Working out is not a chore for me simply because I don’t work out. Eat clean, get active, and literally just go outside and do something!

Bonus Tip: Don’t be mean to yourself. Your body is the only place that is truly yours. Love it!
